Newsletter April 2026
The FGV Rio Law’s Centre for Global Law (CPDG) and the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on EU-LA Global Challenges (CEJM), co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme, have released the April 2026 edition of its Newsletter, produced as a result of the Project “Monitoring the Regulatory Impact of the European Union’s new regulation on deforestation-free products (EUDR) in Brazil”, funded by the Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS), which seeks to analyse the challenges and impact of the EUDR in Brazil.
This issue highlights CPDG’s participation in events and conduction of research seminars. It also features news on the EUDR’s indirect application in Brazil and the EU-Mercosur agreement. The CPDG is coordinated by FGV Rio Law professor Paula Wojcikiewicz Almeida and has the following lines of research: global regulation; international dispute settlement; global litigation; and climate change and forests. The team in charge of monitoring the EUDR and other extraterritorial norms is composed of researchers Mariana Mariani, Leonardo Rossi, Camilla Rosso, Léa Guillaumier and Paula Strogoff.
